I graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree in 2003 having studied as an adult student. I initially practised in general civil litigation and have appeared in the District Court, High Court and Court of Appeal.
I subsequently developed a particular interest, and have now specialised, in Family Law including care and contact and relationship property matters. I am a current member of the New Zealand Law Society and the Family Law Section of the New Zealand Law Society.
The majority of my clients are medium to high net worth individuals who either wish to continue and strengthen their relationship with their partner while clarifying their property entitlements (including a number of clients in same sex relationships) or separating couples who need to preserve their property entitlement and enter into parenting arrangements where necessary.
Often separating couples will have children or a large number of friends in common. To avoid those uncomfortable post-separation encounters where your paths should cross, I endeavour to assist clients to reach agreement with their former partner where possible (whether by way of facilitated mediation or otherwise). To this end, I am also trained in collaborative law.
Of course an agreed outcome is not always possible and, where necessary, I will forcefully promote your interests through the court process.
